You got to start with a clean slate and try again.<\/p>\n<p>A do-over would come in handy in many real-world situations. Take Web browsing, for example. Over time, you acquire plugins that you may or may not have willingly downloaded, toolbars you don\u2019t remember installing and more. These can slow down your browsing, cause annoying crashes and just make a big old mess.<\/p>\n<p>Who has time to troubleshoot these things? It\u2019s tedious, sometimes frustrating and often doesn\u2019t fix the problem.<\/p>\n<p>Firefox has a solution. It\u2019s like hitting the reset button. Actually, it <em>is<\/em> a reset button. Go to your Firefox menu bar and select Help &gt; Troubleshooting information. Click the \u201cReset Firefox\u201d Button, confirm your action with the slide-down prompt and then click \u201cDone\u201d when Firefox lets you know it\u2019s reset. How cool is that?<\/p>\n<p>When you reset Firefox, you don\u2019t have to start from scratch. Here\u2019s what you\u2019ll still have in your browser:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bookmarks<\/li>\n<li>Browsing history<\/li>\n<li>Passwords<\/li>\n<li>Cookies (you won\u2019t be logged out of any sites you were logged in to before the reset)<\/li>\n<li>Web form auto-fill information<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>What won\u2019t be in your browser anymore:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Extensions and themes: although helpful, they can sometimes cause problems. Reinstalling them one at a time might point out the culprit. But regardless, you\u2019ll need to reinstall them.<\/li>\n<li>The reset process will close all open websites. Bookmark sites before your reset and you\u2019ll be able to return.<\/li>\n<li>Site-specific preferences, search engines, personal dictionary, download history, DOM storage, security certificate settings, security device settings, download actions, plugin MIME types, toolbar customizations and user styles are also not saved.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>So the next time your Firefox seems sluggish \u2014 or crashes \u2014 give the reset button a try.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/support.mozilla.org\/kb\/reset-firefox-easily-fix-most-problems\">Read more about Firefox Reset<\/a>.
