We all have a story: the story of how we got to where we are today. When our colleagues started reflecting on how to best recognize LatinX and Hispanic Heritage Month this year, they wanted to share the stories of those who came before them, and who helped them become who they are today.
Who made Tony Recendez who he is today? It all starts south of here, in Zacatecas, Mexico. His grandfather, Andres, (dearly known as “El Maestro”) “would always look for an opportunity to help others,” regularly going beyond his field responsibilities to build other skills like barbering, tailoring and cooking. Tony saw how his grandfather always anticipated what others needed and sought to meet those needs, and it made an impression on him.
We also asked some of our other colleagues to share their stories. You can hear them on this September 30 panel, “Celebrating Our Mozilla LatinX and Hispanic Workforce: The Inspiration – Our Roots, Culture, Journey” (and you can also read some of their snippets on our @MozillaCareers twitter). We hope you enjoy them as much as we did.
