New York, NY, USA – Digital Ready Maker Party
Mid-week we headed over to NYC and found out what it looks like when NYC public high schools join forces with local tech and non-profit organizations to help students gain digital skills and become empowered as creators and innovators. This event was a chance for students, teachers, school administration and local organizations to come together to showcase what they learned this year and was a huge success!
May 31st-June 1st
Chattanooga, TN, USA – Hackanooga II
Last but not least, if you happen to be in Tennessee this weekend why not celebrate National Day of Civic Hacking in Chattanooga as they host their second annual hackathon! Centered around developing Gigabit Applications for the Mozilla Ignite Gigbit Challenge, this weekend-long event will provide civic-minded designers and developers with a unique opportunity to use Chattanooga’s gigabit network to meet education and workforce development needs. Leveraging the power of Chattanooga’s Gigabit network, they’ll spend two days imagining and prototyping the apps that may one day be the future of learning. We can’t wait to see what they come up with.
If you have an event you’d like to share, don’t forget to add it to the events page! It’s the best and easiest way to let the community know about the awesome and exciting events happening around the world.
