The Berlin Office moves to a new building!
It's an exciting time for the Mozilla family! This past March construction began on the new Berlin MozSpace.  With a breathtaking view of the river, the new build-out covers two floors and will feature a designated lunch area, an event space, common work space and a separate community space with room for future growth. The card access system we have at all other MozSpaces will also be implemented. Surrounded by trendy restaurants, the central location was sought out for its diverse population - in the heart of the community.  The target timeline for the office move is in Q3.  Stay tuned for more exciting developments!
Build out of the future stair well leading to the 3rd floor (covered by wooden planks that hide the hole) on the 4th floor
On your right to the very end is the entrance to the office. The painted green walls lead to the new restrooms
Thanks to WPR's Rob Middleton, Lori Jashinsky, Mandy Chan, Quyen Huyhn and our Office Service Coordinator Martyna Sobczak. With Martyna donning her steel-toed-boots, you can be assured it will be a smoothly run operation!
Mozillians Coming Together in each MozSpace!
As our organization grows, we are always looking for ways to increase employee engagement, productivity and overall morale in the workplace.
With your valuable feedback, each of our sites was able to offer activities that were impactful and cost effective. Here's a look at what we’ve been up to:
TOR came together for Wine Night Wednesdays! They paired wine with cheeses, cured meats and some fruit.
This is what a typical morning in PDX looks like. Nothing more special than a friendly and happy work-community!
YVR & PDX implemented the positivity bowls for mozillians in their sites, spreading positivity and happiness all around.
MTV Mozillians added their own special touch and decorated ornaments for their Christmas Tree. They were very creative indeed!
PAR took a trip to the Catacombs of Paris which are underground ossuaries holding the remains of 6 million people. There was no fear in these guys but appreciation and excitement.
The simplest things such as taking a 15 min walk after lunch for fresh air or doing mini challenges such as planking or 5 min wall-sit challenges with a group can be a nice breather. While some may get together for a breakfast treat, others will get together in the evening and share their passion for wine or beer or engage in competitive board games. What about meditating together? That helps too!
We are always looking for new and fun ways of enhancing employee happiness and engagement in the workplace. It's important to us. If you have any ideas or suggestions, feel free reach out to your local Offices Services Coordinator. As Mozillians, let's continue to share our community spirit and also welcome new staff to join in.
Taipei Year End Banquet
Our Taipei office held the year end banquet- Weiya (Chinese: 尾牙) on the 3rd February. The banquet is a Taiwanese tradition for corporations, annually held before the Chinese new year vacation.
2016 is the Year of the Monkey according to Chinese zodiac. The Chinese Zodiac, known as Sheng Xiao, is based on a twelve-year cycle, each year in that cycle related to an animal sign. These signs are the rat, ox, tiger, rabbit, dragon, snake, horse, sheep, monkey, rooster, dog and pig.
Here are some photos of our Mozillians celebrating Weiya:

We have a new conference suite (Building 12) in the Berlin office. Despite the elevator being out of order during the furniture move, we still managed to move all the furniture up the stairs with the help of our Berlin employees. (Thanks everyone!)
In Building 12, we added 7 new conference rooms all named after Berlin city districts; we also added 4 new phone booths to our original space, Building 10. The two buildings are only a few minutes walk away!
Check out our new conference room & one of the phone booths:

International Data Privacy Day
We celebrated International Data Privacy Day at our MozSpaces worldwide on the 28th January by encouraging users to update all their software. Local volunteer experts set up a genius bar and helped out with the upgrades across offices, we also celebrated it with delicious sweet treats and cool stickers!
YOU have the power to make the internet safer!
