The Factory: Mozilla builds in Berlin

September 04th, 2012 | Category: Mozilla Spaces,News and Events

Our newest building project is underway in Berlin at the newly envisioned tech hub, The Factory.

Mozilla will soon be neighbors with the likes of SoundCloud and Berlin startups 6Wunderkinder, Four Sektor, Toast, Urge iO, Views, and Silicon Allee. The Berlin office will be an anchor member of this up-and-coming technology destination.

The Factory will be a large tech community resource in Berlin leading to collaboration and greater network ties between communities. The space will operate like a campus, complete with restaurant, basketball courts and shared spaces in the hopes of fostering frequent interactions and building relationships within the technical community of Berlin.

Well aligned with Mozilla’s mission and history, The Factory will be an exciting home for Mozillians in Germany, and we are looking forward to building out this space in 2013.

Stay tuned for future updates about the newest Mozilla Space at Mozilla Berlin.

Interns create Firefox from Rubik’s Cubes

September 04th, 2012 | Category: Miscellaneous Tidbits

Each summer season a new batch of interns take over our offices and hearts with their enthusiasm and creativity. This year a  particularly impressive team, (not so)widely known as the Yale Bulldog Cube Club,  recreated our beloved Firefox entirely out of Rubik’s Cubes.

The installation is comprised of 529 puzzles,  and measures in at over 4′ x 4′ . It weighs more than many members of our team combined.

The logo has been lovingly framed and hung by the WPR team in Mountain View. It is located in the 3d floor near the lobby for all to admire.

Thanks to our amazing interns for this impressive artifact.

Welcome, Shannon

September 04th, 2012 | Category: News and Events

Meet Shannon Clayton, Mozilla London’s new Office Services Coordinator.

Shannon is quickly organizing the London office with team lunches, space guidelines and a friendly welcome at our front reception. Shannon’s presence could not come at a better time, as more and more events and community members flock to the beautiful London site.

Shannon joins Mozilla with 5 years of Catering and Hospitality experience. She is a trained chef (watch out for cupcakes, London!) and is working on her BA in Honours Politics, Philosophy and Economics. Shannon is politically-minded and is excited to share in Mozilla’s drive for the open web.

We’re very glad to have Shannon join our team and the Mozilla community.  Please stop by to say hello to her the next time you’re in London.
