It's an exciting time for the Mozilla family! This past March construction began on the new Berlin MozSpace.  With a breathtaking view of the river, the new build-out covers two floors and will feature a designated lunch area, an event space, common work space and a separate community space with room for future growth. The card access system we have at all other MozSpaces will also be implemented.  Surrounded by trendy restaurants, the central location was sought out for its diverse population - in the heart of the community.  The target timeline for the office move is in Q3.  Stay tuned for more exciting developments!

As our organization grows, we are always looking for ways to increase employee engagement, productivity and overall morale in the workplace.

With your valuable feedback, each of our sites was able to offer activities that were impactful and cost effective. Here's a look at what we’ve been up to:

The simplest things such as taking a 15 min walk after lunch for fresh air or doing mini challenges such as planking or 5 min wall-sit challenges with a group can be a nice breather. While some may get together for a breakfast treat, others will get together in the evening and share their passion for wine or beer or engage in competitive board games. What about meditating together? That helps too!

We are always looking for new and fun ways of enhancing employee happiness and engagement in the workplace. It's important to us. Helpful tips for Home Space Workers:

• Running Effective Recurring Meetings: Alternate times so the same people on different time zones aren’t always making exceptions. Have an agenda with action items or record the meeting. Make sure all those who need to be there are invited. Make sure everyone has a voice, whether introvert or extrovert. Rotate administrative duties.
• Clear writing: Think about the desired outcome before you communicate. Put yourselves in the audience shoes.
• Ask for feedback & help (no points for doing it alone).
• Type in the open: When you’re creating information make sure it’s easy to locate, easy to search and open for everyone to contribute to.
• Be proactive in Building Trust with others before you need them. Be positive and assume positive intent from others.
• Remote Working: Avoiding Overtime and Some Helpful Tips: Establish a schedule so office-based employees know when your day is over. Don’t forget to eat, take breaks, stretch and go outside. Try being 2 mins early for vidyo calls. It will help you bond with teammates as they join and engage in small talk.
• Avoid out-of-sight and out-of-mind syndrome: Be passionate and vocal. Update your status mozillians.org to let others know what you’re working on.
