Visitor Log

November 09th, 2012 | Category: Mozilla Spaces

We love guests in our Mozilla offices.

We especially love them when they sign our visitor log.

Why?

  • We’re responsible for our guests in the case of emergencies. If something were to happen and we had to evacuate the building we want to make sure everyone is safe and accounted for.
  • Personal belongings and Mozilla property is better secured when we know who is in our space.
  • We can track and manage how busy our MozSpaces are, and plan for future spaces based on our lists. That means more spaces and better events!
  • Plus, we love to know who our friends are.

Please help us keep our sites and visitors safe by reminding all guests to sign in.

The Factory: Mozilla builds in Berlin

September 04th, 2012 | Category: Mozilla Spaces,News and Events

Our newest building project is underway in Berlin at the newly envisioned tech hub, The Factory.

Mozilla will soon be neighbors with the likes of SoundCloud and Berlin startups 6Wunderkinder, Four Sektor, Toast, Urge iO, Views, and Silicon Allee. The Berlin office will be an anchor member of this up-and-coming technology destination.

The Factory will be a large tech community resource in Berlin leading to collaboration and greater network ties between communities. The space will operate like a campus, complete with restaurant, basketball courts and shared spaces in the hopes of fostering frequent interactions and building relationships within the technical community of Berlin.

Well aligned with Mozilla’s mission and history, The Factory will be an exciting home for Mozillians in Germany, and we are looking forward to building out this space in 2013.

Stay tuned for future updates about the newest Mozilla Space at Mozilla Berlin.

Bonjour Paris

July 18th, 2012 | Category: Mozilla Spaces,News and Events

After several months of searching, we’ve found the next location for the growing Paris office.

Located near the current office Poissonnière at 16, boulevard Montmartre, near the Grands Boulevards; the Mercy-Argenteau building is at the center of the art, culture, business and technology sectors of Paris.

Montmartre has been one of the most important Parisian neighborhoods since the eighteenth century. At the center of Paris life, the Grands Boulevards is one of the city’s most interesting areas attracting Parisians and tourists alike. Montmartre is a lively and unique neighborhood with a wide range of restaurants, stores, boutiques, museums and theaters. Served by Metro lines 8 and 9 and an extensive bus network, the Mozilla Paris office is easily accessible for the 50-70 planned workstations, as well as for community members and guests.

The Mercy-Argenteau building (named for the Comte de Mercy-Argenteau) was built in 1778 and is a beautiful example of 18th century architecture. Complete with frieze, intricate molding and gilding, Parisian Mozillians will continue to change the future of the web while residing in the luxury of the past.

The Paris office currently has 16 employees working in two nearby office spaces.

Stay tuned for updates!

Mozilla Vancouver

June 04th, 2012 | Category: Mozilla Spaces,News and Events

Welcome to Vancouver.

At long last the Vancouver renovation is complete. What was once a maze of strangely shaped offices and dark hallways is now a warm and inviting space much better suited to Mozilla’s friendly open culture.

The design placed meeting rooms on the interior of the floor, rather than the exterior- providing access to large swaths of natural light.  The Vancouver architects listened to what Mozilla was really all about in order to achieve architecturally what Mozilla stands for as a company and a people. Their efforts strove to create an office space that would make the invisible visible.

To accomplish this, the interior space is defined by the “hol[e]y wall”; a continuous hole-punched object that allows you to see through to what lies beneath. To further accentuate this concept, the holey wall is fixed with LED strip lighting that provides an ever present glow- reminding us of all that happens beneath the surface. Meeting rooms have glass doors that allow you to see  inside, and the entryway invites you to sit in collaboration at a long co-working table.

The Vancouver office has a community event area that can host up to 40 people as well as a beautiful kitchen with new Astra espresso machine, organic snacks and drink selections and comfy sofas to relax by the windows. The Vancouver area is home to over 20 employees, and with 42 workstations, this office is ready to grow.

We’re happy to see the details come together on this space- and are sure that Vancouver will become a destination and hub for new talent, like many of the other Mozilla Spaces.

San Francisco’s Third Floor Renovation

June 04th, 2012 | Category: Mozilla Spaces,News and Events

Kevin Costner was right.

If you build it they will come.

And come they did. San Francisco has quickly become our fastest growing office. With over 100 employees and a wait list of many more- the third floor renovation could not come at a better time!

Outfitted in much the same style as the trendy 7th floor, the third will boast many similar amenities: snacks, kitchen and meeting rooms. While the 7th floor is best loved for its view of the Bay Bridge- the third floor is ready to take on a unique character of its own as people move in starting on June 8.

At 75% capacity on the third floor and 100% capacity on the 7th floor, Mozillians may wonder where we’ll take you next?

We’ve made it easier than ever before to request event space for your Meetups, hack-fests, lectures and parties. You can now submit your event request online in Service Now. Once submitted, someone from your local office will contact you about the details of your event.

Non-employee Mozillians should have their Mozilla host file their community events on Service Now now too. Public calendars with event listings are coming soon.

Please direct any questions to wpr@mozilla.com.
