Develop in App Contest

Congratulations to Lorenzo Verri for developing FireBeat.

Three months, two APIs, one app and one winner. The new theme is developing a Firefox OS application using Camera API and Alarm API. From August to October, create an app using any or both of the listed APIs. Winner will receive a Very Splendid Swag Pack!

FSA & Club of the Month

Congratulations to Mohammed Adam, from Mailam Engineering College for becoming the FSA of the Month, July.  He is a free software activist and a Club Lead, aiming to bring technology to all freely. He worked on the Firefox Student Ambassadors Program and MLS recruiting 40 new contributors!

Congratulations to Integrillian Firefoxes for becoming Firefox Club of the Month July! They aim to spread awareness about the Web and how Mozilla has made it a more open and safer place. In the recent month, they’ve organized two FoxYeah events, participated in several meetups and helped design a weekly newsletter for their community to be released soon!

July Office Hour: Campaign Challenge on Firefox Friends

70% of Firefox users are on Windows PC. We need your help in helping these users keep using Firefox during the new Windows update. Let’s put our marketing brains together!

This campaign challenge will be hosted on Firefox Friends. Join this Office Hour to find out what it is from Mozilla Marketing Manager Jessica Osorio – and how you can participate!

App Contest

Three API’s, three months, one app and one winner! Hurry up to participate in the App Contest, the deadline is July 25th.

Students have to make an application for Firefox OS using IndexedDB, Vibration or Push Notification (using one or more) API’s and publish it into the marketplace. The winner will be featured in the Monthly Newsletter and will win the Very Splendid Gift Package!

If you have any apps in queue, you can mail to Viswaprasath KS, so that he can help you in getting your apps reviewed.

Congratulations to Mehul Patel, from Nashik for becoming the FSA of the Month, June. His knack for community building and information technology led to the start of an excellent initiative – Mozilla Summer FSA Camp.

Congratulations to LU Firefox Club for becoming Firefox Club of the Month June! They hosted a MozAwareness event hitting great metrics such as Firefox for Android downloads and #Foxyeah creations. They also hosted seminars about the Mozilla Mission, SuMo, Moz Location Service, and even a #WoMoz campaign.

Congratulations to these Ambassadors who’ve officially enrolled in the recognition system. New trainees, juniors, and seniors keep up the good work! You will be receiving additional e-mails about your new role in a few days.

FSA Recognition System Launch

We’re launching a 3-tiered recognition system to provide students with guidance on what steps to follow as Firefox Student Ambassador and to recognize them as they go! The levels are: Trainee, Junior, Senior. See the requirements for each and where you are at at the Recognition wiki. Read it thoroughly to understand!

Applications are opened now and closes May 22nd. Please keep in mind that this is the first beta run of the system. We’ll get your feedback and use the learnings to make this bigger and better!

We’re changing things up! From now on App of the Month Contest will become a quarterly contest. Meaning you will now have three months to develop an app and submit it into the Marketplace. More time, more quality apps, more students who can participate and win swag packages! The theme for App Contest May-July is:
