What’s up with SUMO – 27th March

Hello there, SUMO Nation! March is coming to a close, and apparently Firefox 37 is round the bend… Are you ready?

Mo-zillians!

Not on the list? Go ahead and say “hi” – we’re eager to meet you!

The latest SUMO Community meeting

You can find the agenda and notes here: https://etherpad.mozilla.org/sumo-2015-03-23, and the video below:

Reminder: the next SUMO Community meeting…

  • …is going to take place on Monday, 30th of March. Join us if you can!
  • As a rule, if you want to add a discussion topic to upcoming the live meeting agenda:
    • Start a thread in the Community Forums, so that everyone in the community can see what will be discussed and voice their opinion here before Monday (this will make it easier to have an efficient meeting).
    • Please do so as soon as you can before the meeting, so that people have time to read, think, and reply (and also add it to the agenda).

Community shout-outs

  • Ideato for being our resident virtual forum DJ and an all round super-star contributor :-)

Knowledge Base news

  • There will be new/updated strings showing up in Verbatim soon. Here’s their list.
  • Also, we have first test results, but need a few more days of data for a clearer picture.
  • SUMO Days will be extending from Support Forum to the KB in the coming months – stay tuned for more details.

L10n news

Firefox (+ OS, + for Android) news

  • Firefox 36.0.3 and 36.0.4 hit the web last week, including fixes to vulnerabilities found in the Pwn2Own. Rumour has it that we were first browser vendor to release patches (and yes, all browsers had vulnerabilities discovered by the Pwn2Own participants).
  • It’s the very last call for those who want to take the Firefox OS contributor survey (https://bitly.com/1EVlqok) – results analysis coming soon!
  • Reminder #1: Firefox for iOS is still on track for launching in the first half of 2015. Roland is forming an experimental “Firefox for iOS User Success Council” to work on pre-launch support – more details here.
  • Reminder #2: Thunderbird 38 is coming up in May. We have a content deadline – May 1st! Want to help? Go ahead and email rtanglao AT mozilla.com or contact rolandtanglao in IRC  We need your help to:
    • Update all Lightning articles
    • Remove all documentation referencing releases older than Thunderbird 24
    • Modernize all articles

That’s all for now. Are you going to be there for the Community Meeting on Monday? We hope so! Have a good weekend, and don’t forget about our music thread on the forums :-)
