Improvements to the Reviewer Program

The reviewer incentive program has been running for a few months now, and a few reviewers are already on Level 5! Since this is a new program, we’ve been monitoring the point accumulation and listening to feedback, and have decided to make a few changes.

Point Distributions

To spread out the points more evenly between levels, we’d like to change point distribution to the following:

Current:

Level 1 2,160 points Stickers + Thank You Note
Level 2 4,320 points USB drive
Level 3 7,200 points Shopping bag and mug
Level 4 13,500 points Marketplace Reviewer t-shirt
Level 5 24,000 points Marketplace Reviewer hoodie
Level 6 96,000 points Tablet

New:

Level 1 2,160 points Stickers + Thank You Note
Level 2 4,320 points USB drive
Level 3 8,700 points Shopping bag and mug
Level 4 21,000 points Marketplace Reviewer t-shirt
Level 5 45,000 points Marketplace Reviewer hoodie
Level 6 96,000 points Tablet

Reviewers who earned points under the old scale will keep the levels they’ve earned, and will be given a 30-day grace period to reach new levels before the new system comes into effect.

Using Points for Gear

To give reviewers more flexibility and extend the program to people who participate long-term, we’d like to introduce the option to redeem points for official Mozilla gear once Level 4 is achieved.

Points in excess of 21,000 can be used to claim items from stickers and mugs to hats and messenger bags. This gives reviewers the flexibility to redeem points for other items, continue accumulating points in the program towards earning the hoodie and tablet, or do a combination of the two.

Here are the point values of available gear: https://wiki.mozilla.org/images/c/c4/ReviewerGear.pdf

Amy if you’re really listening to feedback and make changes try doing something about the new themes page. Tell Mozilla to design the page in a way to let users choose what to use or something. Just Don’t hide custom themes.
