Help us select featured add-ons!

When add-ons are featured, they gain visibility and downloads; the developers are rewarded for their efforts, and users are assured the add-ons are vetted and useful. Starting this Spring, in addition to featuring extensions, we will also begin to feature complete themes! A fresh batch of complete themes will be chosen once a quarter, and featured extensions will continue to be chosen every month.

Here’s how you can be involved in deciding which add-ons are featured:

  1. Become a member of the featured add-ons board. The board is made up of add-on developers and fans, and is responsible for nominating and selecting featured add-ons. Each term lasts for six months, and a call for applications for the next board will go out in May.
  2. Send an email to with your suggestion, and it will be added to the board’s consideration list.

Downloads of our picks-of-the-month consistently double during the month they are featured, so your votes really make a difference!

Have you heard about Firefoxmania? It’s very convenient for people in Cuba and they also list top add-ons.

I submitted 2 add-ons to this mail address in the wish they’ll be recommended someday : never had any feedback.

We’re reworking the program, so hopefully we will be more responsive in the future. If you still want to nominate those add-ons, please send your request again.

Basically it’s a good idea to let users help decide, but sending an email seems not the best practice if you ask me. How do you feel about setting up an voting system?

    Hi Amy,
I’m not able to create addons but as heavy enduser I’m sometimes searching for an addon that in the end does not exist.
I would like to suggest an AMO wishlist (at least for registered AMO users) where I can describe what addon I would like to be created, where (at least the registered) AMO users can comment and like it or not. Then addonsmakers who like the idea can take it. And create what the endusers are dreaming of. Lo
