What’s up with SUMO – 6th March

Modern times have modern reasons to celebrate. We’re in the age of connectivity, so Firefox Hello Day took place on the 3rd of March. Are you one of the many who sent a “Hello!” to the rest of the world? If you look carefully, you may find a couple of friendly faces there ;-)

SUMO keeps on growing – thanks to you!

The latest SUMO Community meeting

You can find the agenda and notes here: https://etherpad.mozilla.org/sumo-2015-03-02, and the video below:

Reminder: the next SUMO Community meeting…

  • …is going to take place on Monday, 9th of March. Join us if you can! We aim to make this a “special edition” meeting with one of the Firefox developers, KaiRo. If you like it and it works out, we’ll have more similar Monday “specials”.
  • As a rule, if you want to add a discussion topic to upcoming the live meeting agenda:
    • Start a thread in the Community Forums, so that everyone in the community can see what will be discussed and voice their opinion here before Monday (this will make it easier to have an efficient meeting).
    • Please do so as soon as you can before the meeting, so that people have time to read, think, and reply (and also add it to the agenda).

Community shout-outs

  • Thanks to Philipp for organizing the upcoming Monday “special edition” meeting that’s mentioned above and being always two steps ahead of everyone – kudos!

Developer news

  • The latest Platform meeting notes can be found here. Here are the highlights!
  • The roadmap items for Q2 are open for your review and comments.
  • Our progress in Q2 will depend on (as of yet undecided) the number of developers ready to work on Kitsune.
  • Due to BuddyUp development requiring more brainpower, we have to slow down a bit with the Community Metrics & Hub redesign – but we are not dropping any of our original plans. We still expect to have the basic dashboard ready by end of March.
  • Kitsune is always there for you to hack! Just read the docs and fork us on GitHub.
  • In BuddyUp land – Rehan is working on oustanding release blockers and if all goes according to plan, BuddyUp will be ready by end of March – yay!
  • Finally, huge thanks to Derek for his UX contributions and visual design leadership in all the projects he was a consultant for. See you around!

One final thought: International Women’s Day is on March 8th – that’s this Sunday!

Don’t forget about WoMoz and make sure this year’s celebrations continue every single day until the next one :-)

Oh, yes, also – some countries are updating their time this Sunday… Don’t forget or miss out on lost time!
