  • Take a look under the hood as an engineer writes and reviews real code for Firefox Desktop! The Joy of Coding: Episode 6 streams LIVE at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET / 5 PM GMT on Air Mozilla.

Thursday, 19 March

  • Javascript open day, all day, at Campus Microsoft France, Paris
    • Guillaume Marty will give a talk about es6 and Firefox OS and there’s a Mozilla booth with Firefox OS devices.

Friday, 20 March

  • Mozilla Tunisia community meetup. The aim of this meetup is to fix the agenda for the year and work on the remaining tasks for our main projects. It’s going to be a strategy meetup with diverse workshops.
  • QA Marathon in Dhaka (Day 1): we’ll be teaching people how to get involved with Mozilla QA (note: this is a two day event).

Saturday, 21 March

  • QA Marathon in Dhaka (Day 2): we’ll be having people putting into practice the skills learned on Day 1.

Firefox and Cloud Services

Kev – Quick update on Search

  • Continuing to solicit feedback (and yes, I read it all 🙂 )
  • Yahoo launched as default on Mobile in the US
  • Launched an MDN search enhancement to better highlight MDN content on relevant development queries; continuing to tweak triggering criteria, but any feedback is welcome
  • Focusing on five areas of enhancement over the next several quarters, focusing on product quality and results quality.

  • How Advertising Works: Programmatic is scheduled for Monday March 23rd at 4pm ET.
    • Darren Herman and Jason Schmidt will be giving a 40-minute presentation on the programmatic ad space, how it works, what it does and how it impacts users.
    • This session will be recorded for those who can’t make that time.

Notable changes to bugzilla.mozilla.org during the last week:

  • bug 1102428 Bugzilla now shows the status of reviews from MozReview on the show_bug page
  • bug 1003701 You can now block review, feedback, and needinfo requests (via the Account Information Preferences Tab)
  • bug 1137080 A user’s profile page now identifies users who have canconfirm and/or editbugs permissions
  • bug 1137368 The assignee of bugs can now edit attachments details. This was a blocker for autoland support.
