Stability

Aurora / Dev Edition

  • Overall rate: 3.4 (should be <1.5) – plugin crashes/hangs: .4/.9, usually ~.07/.14
  • Still mostly plugin issues, aklotz is looking into them and already landed some fixes that helped get rates down.

Beta

  • Overall rate: 1.7 (target: <1.4)
  • bug 1144649 (large OOMs in CC) is >10% in b3, should be fixed in b4.
  • bug 1116812 (probably-TDRs) is 3.6%
  • bug 1138520 (shutdowncrash in dom::ContentParent::Observe) is 2.9%
  • bug 1141089 (ContainerState::InvalidateForLayerChange) is 1.6% – patch is on m-c
  • bug 1153558 (msvcr120.dll@0xf20c) signature is 1.4%
  • bug 1124880 should have been solved in b3 but still is 1.3%
  • bug 1143806 (layers::SyncObjectD3D11::FinalizeFrame) is 1.1%
  • bug 1133623 (CompositorD3D11::BeginFrame) is .8%

Release

  • Overall rate: 1.3 (36 was 1.2, 35 was .8-.85)
  • bug 1141089 (ContainerState::InvalidateForLayerChange) is 2.1% but patch doesn’t have much testing yet, only landed on m-c today.
  • 37.0.2 candidates:

    • bug 1151361 (startup, D3D init) is 0.28%

QE

Beta

  • [Otilia] Fennec 38 beta 4 sign-off will be delayed to Thursday as Fennec 37.0.2 was tested today and it was first priority
    • For mobile beta 4 we are usually running a larger set of tests, and these take about 2 days
    • [IN PROGRESS] Testing build – build can be signed off
  • desktop push-to-beta email just sent

Roundtable

  • (lmandel) Proposal to recover from start-up crashes
    • Bug 1152027 Don’t lose users to persistent startup crashes after browser update
  • (catlee) ideas for catching gfx issues earlier?
    • betabreakers – qa testing on windows
    • “database” of our users gfx cards, drivers and os
    • improve the feedback on gfx from the crash stats
    • can we in some form invite people on problematic systems to use beta?
