Updating holiday calendars

We’re in a desperate need for updated holiday calendars, as many have not yet been updated for 2011.

In detail, we’re looking for calendars for the following countries / locales:

  • Basque
  • Belgium (Dutch)
  • Chile
  • Greece
  • Kazakhstan
  • Lebanon
  • Malta
  • Namibia
  • Puerto Rico
  • Singapore (Submitted, but not reviewed yet.)
  • Sri Lanka
  • Switzerland
  • Turkey (Submitted, but not reviewed yet.)

All of these local calendars will expire when they’re not updated and will have to be removed if we don’t find a contributor who can support them.

If you would like to help, please follow these steps:

Once complete, we can update the calendar file on the website as soon as possible.

Thanks in advance!

If you need further information about this process, don’t hesitate to contact us in the #calendar-website channel on irc.mozilla.org or calendar@mozilla-uk.org

  1. If you’re so desperate to update holiday calendars for countries/locales, why don’t don’t you post this request to the mozilla.dev.l10n newsgroup instead of the “dear lazyweb”? That’s the natural place to do so IMHO.
Seeing this it looks like your communication with the l10n community is completely broken…

  2. Calendar Team,
we might be able to provide with all the calendars you need in any language you need. If you are interested please contact me at the email address entered.

  3. I don’t suppose there is overlap between http://pear.php.net/package/Date_Holidays/ and this?

It would be great if you could tell me a name for the credits.

  7. Oh no. I just finished a long comment but once I hit send it got erased. Anyway, may want to check that. Anyway, I totally agree with your point. I’m publishing this on Reddit to talk about with my colleagues. I’ll just use your title as the name for your hyperlink.
