Status update (20 July)

Sorry for the late update. Everyone was pretty busy (Toronto meeting), so the status update somehow fell from the cliff, for which I apologize. Because this update covers the last three weeks, it’s pretty big as you can see. But with all these fixes going in, we believe that Sunbird 0.3 and Lightning 0.3 will be great releases, which are worth waiting for.

  1. I’m glad the problem with rss & lightning is resolved.. I’m now back to using it for my everyday calendar..
I couldn’t find a bug about refreshing remote calendars in lightning .. anybody know about a bug for it ??

  2. I downloaded the latest nightly sunbird yesterday (win xp, installer version). When I click the shortcut, the hard disk starts to go round for a second or two, and then nothing – no calendar, and no process is left.
    Anyone knows anything about this?

  3. Same here, downloaded nightly builds of installer and zipped version for WinXP; both didn’t work. The process stopped immediately after being started.

  4. The issue is fixed in the latest bulds. See https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=345444

  5. No sorry
Same problem with the latest builds (21-Jul-2006 09:13 6.8M )
The process stopped immediately after being started.

  6. I see no problems running Sunbird 2006-07-20-07 or 2006-07-21-08 build on Win2000 or WinXP. I used the zip file, didn’t test the installer.
Ensure that you uninstalled/deleted previous Sunbird builds resp. installed/unpacked into a new folder.

  7. Lightning not functional either, even though the rotate view functionality is nice, however the button is too big and takes too much of my precious screen-real-estate. Keep it moving guys.

I delete the sunbird folder but no change

I can’t reproduce your problems. I suggest that you file a bug at Bugzilla. Include as much information as possible: What version/build id and os, What steps do you do, what do you expect to happen, does it work with new test profile, what working version do you used before – and so on.

  10. Update: erased sunbird directory, re-installed the same nightly build (installer version, July 20), and now it works…

I just installed the Calender version dated July 22, 2006. It appears that the print functionality is broken. I select print, get the box to select what to print, but nothing happens when the data is selected and OK is pressed. I believe that this used to work.

  12. I really love having a calendar within Thunderbird. I use SimplyMEPIS and do not really like KDE mail handlers.
One request though, is it possible to have different categories of events highlight in different colors?
Everything highlights in the same color, so the day’s events all just blend together.
    Thanks.

  13. alarm dont work for me. they just dont sound an alarm. I am using a nightly build from a couple of days ago on windows XP using the installer.

  14. well, it’s ok with the new version, july 26
    thanks

  15. Need fuction minimize to systry

  16. Will you release a first beta soon? I am looking forward to update the quite outdated and not-so-stable release we have in debian experimental right now … to something which might be worth releasing to a broader community.
    Keep up the good work.
