  1. Is there any way to distinguish the nightly builds in terms being 0.3.x or 0.4x versions.
I just spent an hour to get my calendars working again because the latest nightly build was a 0.3.1pre version which couldn’t understand the new data format of the previous nightly build I had installed.
    Thank you for any comments

  2. Hex:
Sunbird builds should have the version number in the filename of the file you download.
We’re looking into ways to add the version number to Lightning’s filename without screwing up the tinderboxes.

  3. tried to install lightning (today installed thunderbird 1.5.0.9), but the installer told me that “it is not compatible with Firefox”!???.
    Have anyone seen this?

  4. As far as I am aware, 0.4 nightly lightning builds aren’t happening anymore. See http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?t=513308
I don’t know of any workaround except for maybe building your own.

  5. I’m not sure how or where to send my bug comment so here goes…
I run Thunderbird v1.5.0.9 with Lightning 0.3_tb. I don’t shut TB down, it stays open most of the time. Yesterday at 6PM I added an appointment for 1PM today. It appeared correctly in the Items list under Tomorrow. This morning it still shows as Tomorrow, listed with today’s date. The Item list didn’t get updated at midnight. Thank you. Love the project, a Calendar was needed. Doug.

  7. i installed the pre version of lightning and now thunderbird pop up a warning telling me that there is an error and needs to shut down thunderbird can somedy tell me how to fix it.

  8. @hg
This means the calendar data in your profile has been upgraded to latest database version. You’ll need to go back to the ‘newer’ version you used before. (You probably used Lightning 0.4a1 nightly build before but now you downgraded to 0.3.1pre nightly builds)

YES! I had the same problem.
    SOLUTION:
    Go to this website: https://addons.mozilla.org/thunderbird/2313/
Follow the instructions as shown here(or on that page). Make sure you use “Save Link As..”
    How to Install in Thunderbird:
    1. Right-Click the link above and choose “Save Link As…” to Download and save the file to your hard disk.
    2. In Mozilla Thunderbird, open the extension manager (Tools Menu/Extensions)
    3. Click the Install button, and locate/select the file you downloaded and click “OK”

  12. Tried loading current version of Lightning and received message “Incompatible with version of Firefox”

  13. Am experiencing similar problem, i.e. “not compatible with Firefox”. I have followed instructions and carried out installation as advised but still get error message and am unable to complete installation of extension.

  14. I am also having the same problem. The fix listed above does not cure it. Just keeps telling me “incompatible with Firefox.”
I have FF 1.5.0.11 and am a long time user. I just installed first copy of Thunderbird (2.0.0.0) and tried to install Lightning. No go.

  15. Clicking on the install link from firefox tries to install the Lighting extension in *firefox*, not thunderbird. You need to download the xpi file, then go to thunderbird and install it as an add on.
The ‘install now’ link on the Lighting download page is totally confusing & should be fixed.

  16. How do I download the xpi file in order to intall Lightning?
