  1. Has this feature being ignored in this last version?

I have always thought that colours in the Today Pane depending on the category is a good idea.

  2. Thanks to all the developers for their hard work in getting this update out! There’s lots here to be happy with and I’m happy to say we’ll be rolling it out to support our Zimbra calendar habit.
@Lluiset – yes, the category-coded Today Pane display didn’t make this release, along with a lot of other features that still need some work; as a programmer, I can say that you can only fit so much into a development cycle.

  3. tb 3.1 + lightning 1.0b2 has is simply not showing any of my Chandler Server based calendars which were working perfectly in tb 3.0 + 1.0b1.
there are no apparent errors in thunderbird error console nor server (apache mod_jk + tomcat) logs. continuing to debug but gut says something in lightning seems to have broken here.

  4. side note: why is there no subscription feed available for comments?

  5. How do we download Beta 1 for Thunderbird 3.0 now?
There’s no ‘older versions’ section that I can see and the ‘Other Systems’ link doesn’t lead anywhere.

  6. @Pete – unless you’re on 3.0.3 or older, you probably don’t want to try that; lots of problems reported with 3.0.4 and higher claiming the Lightning 1.0b1 plugin is an incompatible version. Upgrade to 3.1 – it’s nice, generally an easy upgrade, and 1.0b2 fits in nicely to it.

  7. @LesBarstow Thanks for that advice, currently we have everyone’s workstations on 3.0.3 so I’ll work toward upgrading to 3.1.

  8. @Leho Kraav: Yep, same problem here…

  9. @Harry i’ve commented on https://bugzilla.osafoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=12691 but have got no reactions. it’s late tonight, so i’ll just post what i think is going on here and find a better place tomorrow:
ssl_access_log for one of the calendars:
    192.168.1.104 – – [29/Jun/2010:01:45:31 +0300] “PROPFIND /chandler/dav/collection/xxxxxxxx-3e45-11df-xxxx-f6e4cd0ed970/?ticket=b8dbead0 HTTP/1.1” 403 303 “-” “Mozilla/5.0 (Mac
    intosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.5; en-US; rv:1.9.2.4) Gecko/20100608 Lightning/1.0b2 Thunderbird/3.1”
    192.168.1.104 – – [29/Jun/2010:01:45:33 +0300] “OPTIONS /chandler/dav/collection/?ticket=b8dbead0 HTTP/1.1” 404 140 “-” “Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.5; en-US;
    rv:1.9.2.4) Gecko/20100608 Lightning/1.0b2 Thunderbird/3.1”
as we can see, for some reason Lightning plain loses the collection id part for the OPTIONS request resulting in 404 Not Found. i remember reading something about cosmo not doing correct DAV URLs regarding collections having to end with slashes or something similar.

  10. Lightning 1.0b2 works on Thunderbird 3.0 if you modify the Minimum version line to 3.0.* or something like that. I also did the same for the g-calendar addon and it works great. I’ve found the 64 bit 1.0b1 not to work right on Tbird 3.0, so for 64 bit Ubuntu or Linux users that are still using 3.0, use 1.0b2 and modify that line in the install file.

  11. Printing out Tasks is very welcome. Thanks a lot.
In the meanwhile I moved for keeping (and printing) tasks to http://www.taskcoach.org which is a fine program, but I am considering coming back to Lightning for my tasks.

  12. I see there are no updates or tickets that were resolved after this release. Just curious on what’s happening with the project. Could you please provide us an update of the project and also a link to the list of bugs resolved?
but they return nothing. In bugzilla I tried a filter based on Future target for Calendar client software with resolved status and this does not return anything.

  13. oh, ok. They are tagged under 1.0b3. Thanks.

  14. I also am waiting for the fix with chandler tickets not working with lightning 1.02b is this being addressed by chandler server or mozilla? It seems to have worked with 1.01b but not with 1.02b

  15. Would it be passible to have 6months view and a one year view ? Wolud be nice and usefull (planner for Holidays!)

  16. Suggestions:
For lightning: in the Tasks Bar, to be able to have folders. The other thing i need is a kind of xmarks for all lightning calendar and Tasks Bar.
